7 a.m.? On a Saturday? Seriously?

Okay, I know things need to get done, and I know people have their work to do, but this morning before 7 I was awoken by a relentless weed-whacker right outside my window. Of all days and times for this activity to take place, does it have to be SO early, and on the weekend? Not a huge deal really, but come on! Eventually it stopped, but it seemed to go on forever. Amazingly, I remember something really similar happening when I lived in a Provo apartment seven years ago... Being woken up by grounds maintenance outside my window. I guess it needs to be done.

The good thing about the whole situation is that the offending sound worked its way into the dream I was having. All I remember about the dream is that someone was using a blender intermittently in the next room, making fruit smoothies or something. I was glad they were making smoothies, but the sound was driving me crazy and I wished they would hurry it up and finish already.

  1. LOL, yay smoothies! We get really annoying train horns at really terrible hours of the morning. Some of the drivers are polite about it, but I swear some of them have the "I'm up so I'm waking you up!" mentality. :P

  2. I have had my landlord mow the lawn at 6AM on a Saturday morning more than a couple times. Seems a little inconsiderate.

  3. I had the same problem this morning, except it was the garbage truck and not lawn maintenance. I'm really starting to think there are two trash trucks and they like to ram into each other over and over again because that's what it sounds like.

And I love it when dreams try to incorporate real life! Dreams can be so creative.

  4. I do think it's a little rude for you poor sleeper-inners. But being an early-morning person like his work tactic. Maybe he only had a certain amount of work, and whenever he gets done, he could have the rest of the day off and enjoy the weekend. Seven isn't that early anyway. You should make use of the morning when you wake up early. Of course, this is coming from a person who wakes up at 6:45 almost everyday with no alarm, and usually nothing to wake up for. But that doesn't mean that I'm fine with being loud and waking up everyone around me. I like the alone time.

    Done with rant.

  5. The fact that it made it into your dream is really funny. The mind is amazing. I agree with you, 7 am on a Saturday is cruel.

  6. Oh, the sounds of groundskeeping. It interrupts my mornings, my afternoon naps . . . I can never get away from it!!! I sympathize.

  7. I feel asleep in math once and I could still hear Mr Johanson speaking, but in my dream he was Mr. Burgoyne and I was at marching band practice. :D
